Listed here today for your viewing and purchase is this darling kitschy kitchen gift from long ago.
I bought this cute set of granny bloomers years ago at an estate sale.  The bloomers are cute -- but it was the handwritten note attached that caught my eye!  Ladies had the time / took the time to put so much effort in crafting the cutest gifts so long ago!
The attached note on this says:
"Now don't get excited, and don't be mislead.  These are not for you, but for the kitchen instead.  And when you are through with "Best Birthday Wishes," just pull out the ribbons and go do the dishes."
The pantaloons are made from two good-sided open-weave dish cloths.
The bloomers measure approximately 14" long by 13" wide (at "hips).
My photos give the appearance that the dish cloths are bright white.  In person they have gently mellowed with age until they are an off-white in color  They have a mild aroma of having been stored inside a cedar chest.
I've seen these bloomers before, but never such a pretty pair nor a pair with the attached note.
Would look so cute framed and decorating your vintage kitchen -- or given as a gift to that special person who will totally appreciate something from days gone by.
