    Description

This is a Humidor or cigar box with the copper plaque of a dog "Sam" made by Henry W. Longfellow, a distant relative of the poet.  It has a sticker that identifies it as 'made by H.W. Longfellow Weston, Massachusetts'.  I've found these dated to the 1930s. It features a nice warm finish that is achieved over time.
Made of walnut by Decatur Industries.
Measures 8 by 11 inches, 3 inches deep.  Weighs just under 3 pounds.
In very good condition, with some light scratches and some stains, from cigars, on the inside.
