VINTAGE FRENCH Confit Clay CRUCHE or Water Pitcher,w/Lid,c.1930s-50s

Beautiful petit vintage French clay gargoulette, or water vessel, with lid, circa 1930s-1950s.
Lovely olive green glaze to upper portion, with lower body left unglazed. These vessels were typically used by French workers to hold a days supply of water, and keep it cool. Sometimes the vessels were partially buried in the cool soil during a hit day to further insulate it from heat. Glazed interior.
Very well preserved, in very good vintage condition showing age appropriate wear and evidence of use. Please review all photos for an accurate depiction of condition.
