If you're tired of the scrapes that come with playing on gravel or wooden mulch, add the Playsafe Rubber Playground Mulch to your neighborhood park, daycare playground, or backyard swing set. Rubber mulch provides improved shock absorbency that has been tested to reduce playground-related injuries and surpasses even the highest ASTM standards for kids of all ages.
These playground mulch chips are made of 100% vulcanized rubber from recycled tires. This means that the mulch nuggets do not absorb water, decompose, freeze, or harden, providing a quick-dry mulch for year-round playground use. The anatomy of this rubber mulch does not promote the growth of mold or fungus and does not attract animals or insects. Non-toxic colored paint with Powerlock-Colorguard coats the outside of these 1/2 to 5/8-inch rubber chips and nuggets providing a bright color that will not stain skin or clothing. This color technology will resist fading for up to 12 years. Rubber mulch requires less depth than standard wood fiber mulch during install and does not need to be topped off each year, providing a cost-effective option for playground mulch.
