    Description

This auction is for one (1) copy REPRODUCTION  of a RARE Original 1930s German Military Chart depicting the 8mm Mauser, 9mm Parabellum and .22 Caliber Kleinkaliber ammunition approved for use by the German Military. It is titled: Munition Fur Schuswaffen 98 und MG Pistol 08 und Kleinkaliber.I own an original copy of this chart, printed on flimsy paper. The 80 plus year old original is very fragile, buy entirely whole and complete. This chart was authenticated by Oberst (Colonel) Schmitt as Series M1. and carries the notation of Nachdruck Verboten meaning duplication forbidden. The chart shows examples of the ammunition in use early on before WW II. It does not reference the P-38 as using the P08 ammo, telling us this chart predates the approval of the P-38 for military use.
It measures 17 1/4 inches wide by 22 3/4 inches deep so it will fit in a standard 18x24 inch frame available at most stores.
I have had the original copied onto heavy flexible vinyl which allows it to be rolled up, easily displayed unframed, or framed as you may desire. I will ship it rolled up in a hard cardboard shipping box to prevent any damage.
The Chart depicts the following rounds with detailed internal and external drawings:
Top Row Scharfe Patrone sS; Platzpatron wooden training round with red/purple colored round; Exerzier  dummy round; and the Werkzeug Tool Round for use by armorers for head space testing etc.
Second Row: Chart of bullet weights in grams and velocities in meters per second and 4 different bullets including solid, steel core, steel core tracer and incendiary I believe.
Third Row: Drawings of the rear of the shell casing explaining the numbers, and codes that identify date of manufacture, who made it, casing material, bullet type and color of primer seal.
Fourth Row: Depictions of the 9mm Pistolenpatronen 08 inside and out; P 08 Training Round, and 5.6mm .22 caliber rounds for use in training rifles.
5th Row: Drawings of the shell casings for the 9mm and 5.6mm rounds identifying the date of manufacture, who made it, type of round, and shell casing material. One of the .22 caliber round manufacturers is listed as RWS who still makes ammunition today.
Large Square Box: has the Oberst Schmitt info, Series ID, the publisher, R. Eisenschmidt and address.
This is a very interesting historical document of great interest to any collector of military arms and ammunition or any military history buff.
Please ask any questions before bidding as this auction is final with no returns.
