The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is grained.
Obverse:
at the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and the circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center — an arrangement of the clockwork elements, the Sun, and the Moon, where the center of the clockwork is inlaid with the cubic zirconia gem; on the right-hand side — the year of issue; on the left-hand side — the alloy standard; at the bottom — the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES). The inner circle contains numerals that represent years from 2013 to 2024, according to the number of years in one cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar. The clockwork elements and the Year of the Monkey (2018) are gold-plated.
Reverse:
in the center – the image of a dog flying on a rocket surrounded by stars, planets and rockets; at the top - a gold-plated Chinese hieroglyph symbolizing a dog; at the bottom – an inscription: ГОД САБАКІ (THE YEAR OF THE DOG).
