The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is reeded.
Obverse
at the top — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center — an arrangement of the clockwork elements, the Sun, and the Moon, where the center of the clockwork is inlaid with a cubic zirconia gem; on the right-hand side — the year of issue; on the left-hand side — the alloy standard; at the bottom — the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES); and at the top — a circumferential inscription: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS).
Figures designating the years from 2013 to 2024, in accordance with the number of years in one cycle of the Chinese lunar calendar, are shown within the inner circle. The clockwork elements and the Year of the Horse: 2014 are plated with gold.
Reverse
in the center — the image of two horses which are surrounded by the stars and the ornamental pattern and within the spiral — the gold-plated Chinese hieroglyph representing a horse; and at the bottom — an inscription: ГОД КАНЯ (THE YEAR OF THE HORSE).
