The coins have the shape of a circle, on the obverse and reverse sides there is a protruding edging along the circumference, a notched edge.
Obverse
at the top - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; in the center of the coin in a circle is an image of a fragment of a double-sided double-faced belt made at the Slutsk manufactory (1760(1762)–1776) and in the collection of the Minsk Regional Museum of Local Lore (a fragment of the belt on the silver coin was made using the pad printing method); on the outer circle at the top is the inscription: REPUBLIC BELARUS; on the left - the year of minting, on the right - the assay of the alloy (on a silver coin) and an artistic element (on a copper-nickel coin), below - the denomination: 20 RUBLES (on a silver coin) and 1 RUBEL (on a copper-nickel coin).
Reverse
on the left in a circle is the inscription: SLUTSKIA PAYASY. MARKS; in the center of the coin there is a type composition based on woven marks of the Slutsk belts and a stylized fragment of the map of the city of Slutsk in the 17th - early 18th centuries, reflecting the time, place and authorship of their creators, and the inscriptions: SLUCK, MEFECIT/SLUCIAЕ., IOANNES.MADZARSKI, VGRДЪ/ SLUTSK//LEO.MA/ZHARSKI.
