Description
Antique or vintage commemorative or souvenir silver plated Texas spoon marked on the back, Wm. Rogers & Son AA, and Pat App For.Nice design topped by an eagle with spread wings over a banner that reads Texas and a shield emblazoned with the state seal (a star of five points, encircled by olive and live oak branches). On the neck of the spoon there is a large plant that looks like a thistle. Possibly bluebonnets, but more likely just Victorian acanthus leaves.
There is some wear to the plating on the back of the bowl, & the front tip. No dents or other considerable damage, but would definitely benefit from polishing.
I'd assume this piece dates from the late 19th or early 20th century.
Measures almost 6" long.
