Antique souvenir spoon memorializing Camp Chickamauga, located in Georgia; Later Camp Thomas was located oin this area which is now a Chickamauga National Military Park
It appears that this site served as
the staging area for US troops heading to the Spanish-American War
The handle of spoon has image of General Nelson Miles who was US Army Commander at that time
After quite a bit of searching, I have found only two other examples of this item on the internet so my guess is that this is somewhat rare
Suspect that this is circa 1898
6" tall
Marked *A1* Copyright
Not marked as silver or silver plate but magnet does not adhere to it. Recent input from another eBay person indicates that this is silver plated brass.
