    Description

    DESCRIPTION:
    A nicely potted antique Chinese Ming style square brown Yixing teapot. One side of the body has a 4-character inscription & a signature possibly reads “Shao Shan”, the alias of the Ming dynasty great yixing master Shi Da Bin. The foot resembles an upside down Shi's monk cap teapot's rim. Base with seal mark read “Yixing Zisha”. Inside cover has a “Fu Heng” seal mark. Circa late Qing early Republic.
    Both the cover & the body has the early type People's Republic of China's red lacquer round export seals.
    SIZE:
    Approx. 6 5/8 inches long, 4 in. wide & 4.5 in. tall.
    CONDITION:
    Cover: Knob broken off & lost; major chips on the underside; tiny flea bite at corner, areas blackened probably resulted from fire.
    Body: Spout has chips
    All old damages & they all now have their own patina.
