    Silver Plated Demitasse Souvenir Spoon
    National Silver Plate Co 1898
    This is a beautiful demitasse souvenir spoon manufactured by the National Silver Plate Company to commemorate Admiral Dewey’s victory at the Battle of Manila Bay that began on May 1, 1898 during the Spanish-American War. This spoon measures approximately 4 3/8”. The front of its handle is embossed with Dewey’s likeness and the words, “Admiral Dewey Manila May 1st 1898.”  The bowl shows his flagship, the US Cruiser Olympia. The back of the handle shows the American flag and the National Silver Plate Company’s maker’s mark. It is in very good+ condition. This is a very nice battle commemorative either for a souvenir spoon or a naval battle collection. This spoon is in found condition and will clean up to be excellent.
